Korean Grocery Delivery

Where can I buy Korean food products online?

The first option to buy Korean foods online are from local Korean grocery stores that offer pickup/delivery services. Hmart serves “most addresses” in the US and UK. If you don’t live near a Korean grocery store, there are companies that ship directly to your home from a warehouse. The biggest company is Amazon, but there are other e-commerce websites that may serve you better. Just do your due diligence in checking their pricing and reviews online.

Where to buy Korean food products online will largely depend on geographical location. The best choice would be to order from a local Korean grocery store. And then there’s the all-mighty Hmart. They specialize in Korean groceries and if they deliver to your area, you’re golden.

Some will even deliver fresh foods (Fried chicken, anyone?) if you are close enough, lucky you New York. Mom-and-pop Korean groceries may offer delivery through a third-party app (like Uber/Instacart). You’ll pay a premium a service fee, but it may still be cheaper than inflated prices on Amazon.

The next category would be e-commerce websites or general grocery stores that may have some Korean products in their lineup. E-commerce websites don’t have a physical retail store, and ship directly from their warehouse. If they are a recognizable brand in their own right (Amazon is the biggest e-commerce site people trust), you’re good to go. Just do your due diligence because there are numerous online sites that have cropped up due to the pandemic recently. Make sure you verify that you can find at least a few reviews to make sure delivery will be accurate and timely.

With the growth in popularity for Korean food, you will be pleasantly surprised at the selection you may find at your local Kroger’s or Walmart: Short grain rice, gochujang and sometimes even kimchi are available.

The last-resort/only/emergency option is, of course, Amazon. Amazon has wooed many Korean businesses and individual sellers to their platform by taking on shipping responsibilities. You’ll find most of the popular shelf-stable products there. Prices may be higher, and there are no sales. But when you need some GOCHUGARU and Amazon Prime Shipping gets it to your door the next day, it’s a no-brainer.
