Korean Soju Brands

What is Korean Soju?

Korean SOJU is a clear distilled alcohol traditionally made from rice, wheat or barley.

It can be rather tame with a 16% alcohol content to a whopping 53%. It is clear and without colour, most often compared to vodka. History shows Soju has been around since the 13th century. Although it was originally distilled from rice, the government prohibited the use of grains during a rice shortage. Creative thinkers began using other sources like sweet potatoes and tapioca and the practice continues today with inexpensive Soju. This allows for a friendly price point that’s sometimes cheaper than bottled water in the country.
